Self Love
You look in the mirror and see yourself. You take pictures and see yourself in those images. You walk on the sidewalk and see your reflection on the glass walls along the way. But its not you at all. Sure, you see those brown eyes, and your pointy nose, and your lips curling into a little smile at times, but that's not all of you. When you look into the mirror, you don't see all the lives that you have touched, and all the people you've changed by your presence. You are not seeing all those people who you have shared your laughter with, and you are not seeing all those people whom you had those 4 A.M. conversations with.
When you look at the mirror, sure you see those stretch marks and the scar you got when you fell off from your bike for the first time. But you don't see how strong you've been all this while. All the battles that you've won, all the pain you've endured, all the rains you've walked in - are totally hidden. You cannot see the kindness you've spread in this world, and you cannot see how your presence makes this world a wonderful place.
You should believe it when I say, you are not limited to what you see in the large mirror you have in your hallway. So why limit the songs and the paintings and the poems about falling in love. Why do they always have to be about falling in love with other people and not yourself. Fall in love the way you sing that song from that old band when you are alone, and fall in love with the way your hand is still warm when you are out in the cold. Fall in love with the voices you talk to babies in, and fall in love with the way your heart races when you smell cookies.
You should believe it when I say, you are not limited to the silhouette you see on those glass walls when you walk along the sidewalk. There is so much to love than to falling in love with someone else. Fall for your fear of heights, fall for your fear of love. Fall for the way it's taking you so many more sleepless nights and so many more cupcakes to get over them than you thought you would. Fall for your brown eyes - brown I say because you could never actually determine what color they are. Fall for the way you are cold and detached at times and fall for the way you become clingy when someone gives you slightest of attention. Fall for the way you balance your strong mind with your fragile heart.
You are much more than that image in that photograph, for it is just showing one flower in the entire garden and one grain of sand on the beach. Fall for you because you are all the fish in the ocean and all the stars in the galaxy. You are the conversations of the past and a rendezvous with future.
You are the one worth fighting for.
Love it❤️
